About Adolf Fafula

About

“I've learned every job is like an orchestra that doesn't know it's playing the same song. Most people just focus on one section. I find the melody that connects them all.”

That's not a brand exercise. On a custom home, the blueprint, the client, the builder and the crew are rarely saying the same thing, and reconciling them without dropping any of them is the actual job.

Adolf Fafula runs Fafula Projects out of Asheville — exterior and finish carpentry for custom homes across Western North Carolina. One man, one trade, held to it on purpose.

Reputation

What he's known for

Most of the work I'm proud of, you can't see.

There's a version of any job that costs you three extra days and nobody will ever notice the difference. And there's a joint by your front door you'll look at every morning for twenty years. My job is knowing which is which.

Scope

The honest limits

I turn down two kinds of work on purpose, and I won't promise you an outcome sight unseen.

  • General remodeling.
  • Production framing.
  • 3D renders or fly-throughs — I sketch over a photo of your own house instead.
